Who this covers
This policy describes how StarTech Solutions LLC ("we") handles information collected through the STS Driver App, an Android application used by our fleet drivers to record trips. The app is issued to employees and contract drivers; it is not available for public sign-up.
What the app collects

Location: what we do and do not do
The app reads your location only at the two moments you start and end a trip. It does not track you continuously, does not run in the background, and does not hold the Android background-location permission. If you deny the location permission, a trip cannot be recorded.
Photographs of passengers
A trip may include a photograph of a passenger. Passengers are not users of this app and do not have accounts. Do not take a passenger photograph without their knowledge, and do not take one at all where company policy or local law does not permit it.
Where the information goes
- Trip and account records are stored in a PostgreSQL database hosted by Railway.
- Photographs are uploaded to and stored by Cloudinary.
- Dispatchers and administrators at StarTech Solutions LLC can view all of the above through our web dashboard.
We do not sell this information, and we do not use it for advertising. The app contains no third-party advertising or analytics SDKs.
Security
Passwords are stored only as salted hashes, never in readable form. Traffic between the app and our servers uses HTTPS. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee against every possible compromise.
How long it is kept
Trip records and their photographs are retained for seven years, which covers the period we are required to keep vehicle and mileage records for tax and insurance purposes. After that, photographs are deleted and trip records are anonymised: the mileage, dates and vehicle are kept for fleet reporting, but they are no longer linked to you. Account records are kept for as long as you drive for us and for seven years afterwards.
Your choices
To see what we hold about you, correct it, or ask for it to be deleted, contact us at the address below. Some records we are required to keep for tax, insurance or regulatory reasons and cannot delete on request. Depending on where you live you may have additional rights under state privacy laws such as those in California, Virginia and Colorado.
Children
The app is for employed and contracted drivers only and is not directed to anyone under 18.
Changes
If this policy changes materially we will update this page and change the date at the top. We do not send separate notifications, so please check this page from time to time.
